Red, White and Brown Media is a journalism and media organization that facilitates substantive conversations about culture and politics through the lens of South Asian American identity. It publishes a newsletter on Substack, is developing a narrative podcast, and runs reporting and community-engagement projects. The name plays on the American flag's "red, white and blue" — with "brown" for South Asian Americans.

## Past Highlights

- Social-first interview series — 28 live, 30-minute audio conversations on Twitter Spaces and Instagram Live with authors, journalists, artists, and advocates in the Asian American community, on topics from pop-culture representation to AAPI political engagement to the "bamboo ceiling."
- Instagram engagement — A social campaign that asked South Asian Americans 20 questions about identity, spurring story ideas and building relationships with community members.
- Freelance journalism — Reported stories on issues impacting Asian American communities, published in The Washington Post, KFF Health News, NBC News, and Colorado Public Radio.
